Henderson Chamber will welcome Lionel Sawyer & Collins shareholders Nov. 29
HENDERSON, Nev. – The Henderson Chamber’s Thursday, Nov. 29, Roadmap to Success Series workshop will discuss tax information during “Tax Tips for Small Business Owners.”
Featuring speakers Matthew Policastro and Laura Thalacker, shareholders from Lionel Sawyer & Collins, the workshop will take place from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Henderson Business Resource Center, located at 112 Water St. in downtown Henderson’s Water Street District.
During the workshop, Policastro and Thalacker will discuss tax implications to consider when forming a business, whether workers should be treated as employees or independent contractors and the potential impact of future legislation on businesses.
As a shareholder practicing tax law at Lionel Sawyer & Collins, Policastro advises businesses on tax issues relating to entity formation and operations. He also focuses on estate planning and federal tax controversies, including audits and appeals.
An employment law attorney, Thalacker advises employers on legal compliance and litigation prevention with respect to a wide variety of workplace issues, including proper employee classification and the consequences of misclassification.

The Roadmap to Success Workshop Series covers all aspects of business critical for business owners to understand and properly execute to stay afloat, especially when times are tough.
