Henderson Chamber helps businesses stay afloat with Success Series

Roadmap to Success business workshop 24-part series covers marketing, sales/operations, finance

HENDERSON, Nev. – Times have changed over the past year-plus, and businesses need support more than ever before. Currently, business owners are putting all their energy into ensuring they continually attract new business, retain and grow their current client or customer base, and run their business as efficiently and cost-effectively as possible.

That’s why, in September, the Henderson Chamber began its Roadmap to Success Business Workshop Series, a 24-part hands-on marketing, sales/operations and finance workshop series that helps businesses learn to make small corrections and improvements on their own to remain competitive in the market.

Since its launch, workshops have completely filled up. According to Alice Martz, president and CEO of the Henderson Chamber, this is good news for Henderson’s business community. The series addresses the growing and changing needs of our local businesses, she said.

“It is a challenging environment for any business, but for small businesses, which make up most of our business community, it’s especially tough out there. These workshops often serve as the hands-on training opportunities they need to ensure their own company’s success.”

The series consists of three workshops monthly focusing on finance, marketing, sales and operations. The Henderson Chamber offers the workshop series to members for free and at a small cost to non-members.

“It’s really about targeting specific areas our business community is most concerned about and providing precisely the information they are seeking,” Martz said. “The workshop series is achieving this goal, which, as a chamber, is our goal.”

Hosted by Henderson Business Resource Center and sponsored by the Henderson Chamber of Commerce, City of Henderson, Entrepreneur Advisors and Imagine Marketing, the 24-part Roadmap to Success series provides educational workshops to members of the business community through May 2010.

All workshops take place at the Henderson Business Resource Center – located at 112 Water Street, near W. Pacific Avenue in downtown Henderson.
