Walls erected for new Gibson Library

The walls on Henderson Libraries’ new Gibson Library — located at Lake Mead Pkwy. and Water Street — went up in late December.

Slated for completion in June 2010, the new library will feature a drive thru window for requested material, a computer lab for up to 25 users, a teen area and larger rooms for library programming. At 19,919 square feet, the new building will be 5,000 square feet larger than its older counterpart, and there is space on the site to add an additional 7,000 square feet in the future. The new site is more visible and will also alleviate parking issues, which the current location currently deals with on a regular basis due to the library’s increasing popularity.
