Location to offer less stressful banking experience with ‘café banking’
HENDERSON, Nev. – Valley Bank of Nevada opened its Henderson location at 4343 E. Sunset Road with a soft opening in January; the grand opening will take place Saturday, April 7. Previously operating as a business loan center, the Henderson branch was transformed into a full-service branch with a slightly unique touch – café banking.
“Café banking,” a term coined by the Valley Bank staff, takes the stress out of traditional banking, offering coffee and cookies to patrons as well as a lounge area where they can catch up on emails or grab Wi-Fi in between meetings.
From opening a savings account in person for the youngest member of the household to depositing a check via the mobile app, Valley Bank offers the convenience and atmosphere of a neighborhood community bank with the technologies and amenities of a much larger, nationwide bank.
The Henderson location will be led by Chris Schlaffman, senior vice president and commercial loan manager, and John Gentile, vice president and commercial loan officer, in addition to Dana McCrory, customer service manager, and Marci Cutter, relationship banking associate.
Schlaffman started in the banking industry as an intern and part-time teller before entering the field full-time after graduating from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas with a bachelor’s degree in financial services. Schlaffman started with Valley Bank in early 2017 with more than 35 years of banking experience.
Gentile has lived in Southern Nevada for more than 36 years and graduated from UNLV with a bachelor’s degree in managerial finance. With more than 20 years in the banking industry, Gentile has worked with Valley Bank since 2013.
McCrory – who has been with the Bank since 2013 and in the banking industry for 31 years, 25 in Southern Nevada – will oversee operations at the new location. Cutter, an industry professional for more than 25 years, will oversee new accounts and operations at the Henderson branch.
Established in 2005, Valley Bank of Nevada is known for providing consumer banking services designed to restore the traditional values of service and quality that the banking industry was built on.
