Busybusy.com acquires Cabosoft LLC
ST. GEORGE – Two Southern Utah tech firms will join forces in 2014. Busybusy is set to acquire Cabosoft LLC, a custom software and mobile application development firm founded in 2008. Cabosoft was an early partner and investor in busybusy, building out its web and mobile platforms.
Busybusy is a multi-featured project management software designed to track various business processes such as collecting accurate time card data from the field to measure productivity against labor costs.
According to founder Isaac Barlow, busybusy is gaining significant traction and needs to expand its development staff to keep up with demand. The company currently has 15 employees, not including sales agents, and Cabosoft has nine.
Cabosoft will be fully absorbed into busybusy-, said Barlow. The founders of Cabosoft will join busybusy, with Jason Madrid becoming CTO, and Jim Boyd and Brad Campbell leading the mobile technology teams. Campbell said existing clients of Cabosoft will be fully served during the transition, and their projects will be completed.
One of the missions of Cabosoft has been to develop great software, Boyd said. “Busybusy offers us the opportunity to develop better software than was possible as contract engineers, because a long-term, product-based effort affords greater attention to good development practices than most short-term projects are willing to invest.”
Campbell said that one of Cabosoft’s goals has been to create jobs for Southern Utah—not just any jobs, but career jobs with above average wages and living conditions.
“Busybusy provides this path for us,” Campbell said. “We expect to be one of the largest tech companies in the region, and hopefully the coolest place to work, not only for software developers, but for sales, marketing—you name it.”
Busybusy is set to move to new offices located at 446 S. Mall Drive.
