Roadmap to Success workshop series welcomes Lionel Sawyers Collins Oct. 11
HENDERSON, Nev. – The next Henderson Chamber Roadmap to Success Series workshop, “The Un‘Friend’ly World of Employee Social Media Use … How to Protect Your Business,” will discuss social media in the workplace. The workshop, led by Laura J. Thalacker, shareholder at Lionel Sawyer Collins law firm, will take place from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 11 at the Henderson Business Resource Center, located at 112 Water St. in downtown Henderson’s Water Street District.
Free to Henderson Chamber members, the Roadmap to Success Series begins every year in September and continues through May. The series includes 16 workshops covering topics including finance, human resources, law, marketing, and operations, sale and technology.
In her role at Lionel Sawyer Collins, Thalacker advises employers on legal compliance and litigation prevention with respect to a wide variety of day-to-day workplace issues, including employee discipline and termination, workplace investigations, anti-discrimination laws, wage and hour compliance, leaves of absence, the WARN Act and enforcement of non-competes. Thalacker also provides harassment prevention and other workplace training as well as drafts employment contracts, handbooks and policies.
During the seminar, Thalacker will discuss how social media use by employees has the potential to create legal headaches, liabilities and potentially devastating consequences for employers. She also will address how every company, whether social media is used as part of the business or not, should adopt a written social media policy and implement it at employee training.
All chamber members and the public are invited to attend. There is no cost for Henderson Chamber members. Cost for non-members is $25. Breakfast is sponsored by Marriott Munchables. To RSVP, send email to Nancy Aquino at email@example.com.
The Roadmap to Success Workshop Series covers all aspects of business critical for business owners to understand and properly execute to stay afloat, especially when times are tough.
