The art of the business model the topic of discussion during March 21 event

HENDERSON, Nev. – As part of the Henderson Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s Roadmap to Success workshop series, Preston Sumner, of CEO Focus Nevada, will present “Business Model Roulette” from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday, March 21, at the Henderson Business Resource Center’s Seminar Room (in the Wells Fargo Building), 112 S. Water St. in Downtown Henderson.

Although business plans get a lot of attention, a solid plan begins with a business model that identifies the core concepts on which the business competes. The best business plan will fail unless it’s based on a strong business model. During the workshop, Sumner will use the Business Model Wheel to explain and integrate the various elements essential to a winning business model.

CEO Focus is a national organization with groups in 30 major cities across the country. In 2015, Sumner founded the Nevada chapter to pursue his passion of working with CEOs and business owners. Members participate in monthly peer group meetings in additional to one-on-one meetings with an advisor each month.

The workshop is open to all chamber members and the public. There is no cost for Henderson Chamber members. Registration for non-members is $25. An additional $10 will be charged for walk-in attendees. RSVP online at www.hendersonchamber.com by Tuesday, March 19.

The event is sponsored by the City of Henderson, Wells Fargo and the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

The Roadmap to Success workshop series covers a variety of seminars offered on the first and third Thursday of every month, with the exception of summer, from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Henderson Business Resource Center. Topics include health care, business, finance, insurance and marketing, among others.
