Patterson to cover how business, higher education can work together to advance economic development in Southern Nevada
HENDERSON, Nev. – Bart Patterson, president of Nevada State College, will speak during the Henderson Chamber of Commerce’s August network breakfast, which will take place from 7 to 9 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9, in the Sunset Room at Sunset Station, 1301 W. Sunset Rd.
Titled “Nevada State College: Higher Education + Business Community = Economic Development in Nevada,” Patterson’s presentation will cover how higher education and the business community can work together to advance economic development in Nevada.
Patterson was appointed as the seventh president of Nevada State College, Nevada’s fastest growing college, in April 2012 after serving as interim president for six months. He has established the top priorities of NSC to continue building quality, affordable academic programs to boost the economy of southern Nevada, increase student success, and identify public-private partnerships to creatively build out NSC’s 509-acre site in the foothills of Henderson.
