Henderson Chamber helps Mack, Greenspun, Basic raise funds for robotics contest
HENDERSON, Nev. – The Henderson Chamber of Commerce Foundation has begun a fundraising initiative, titled Biz + Bots, dedicated to helping Robotics Team students from three local public schools — Mack Elementary, Greenspun Middle and Basic High schools — raise funds to represent Nevada April 22-26 at the 2017 VEX Robotics Worlds Competition in Louisville, Kentucky. As such, students from all three schools will demonstrate their school’s robot entry at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, as an introduction to the Henderson Development Association’s presentation and mixer featuring “Oh, the Places You’ll Go!: A Panel Discussion on Distribution in Southern Nevada.” The event will take place at DragonRidge Country Club, located at 552 S. Stephanie St. in Henderson.
Students can be interviewed at 5:15 p.m. prior to the event.
“Supporting these students is a great way for our member businesses to give back,” said Scott Muelrath, president and CEO of the Henderson Chamber of Commerce. “After all, they’re our future scientists and engineers.”
