Leadership Henderson raises $28,500 during Biddin’ for Bottles

Fundraising event allows organization to give $7,100 to Living Grace Home

HENDERSON, Nev. – The Henderson Chamber Foundation and Leadership Henderson raised $28,500 during the fourth annual Biddin’ for Bottles fundraising and wine tasting event on March 29. The amount raised allows the organization to support next year’s Leadership Henderson class and donate $7,100 to Living Grace Home, a local nonprofit organization that provides a safe haven for pregnant teens who need food, shelter, education and a safe place to bring home their newborns.

The check was presented to the organization April 22.

“I’m overwhelmed by the support and thrilled we can write such a nice check to Living Grace Home,” said Rebecca Fay, director of the Henderson Chamber Foundation.

Living Grace Home opened in 2007 and provides housing, education and social services to 20 to 25 minor, pregnant women every year, filling a gap in current government and private nonprofit services in Clark County, which has the one of the highest teen pregnancy rate in the country. The nonprofit organization partners with government entities, the education community and other nonprofit groups to help support young mothers. The goal is to assure that when young women leave Living Grace Home, they leave with their high school diploma, or equivalent, and move into permanent housing.

Leadership Henderson is governed by the Henderson Chamber Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization. The program strives to make better leaders and a stronger community.
