HENDERSON, Nev. — Henderson, Nevada-based Imagine Communications was recognized in two categories during the Public Relations Society of America – Las Vegas Chapter’s 20th annual Pinnacle Awards Nov. 2 at the Keep Memory Alive Event Center in Las Vegas.
The online image library, created for the International Training Institute, the National Energy Management Institute Committee/International Certification Board and the Sheet Metal Occupational Health Institute Trust — also known as the Funds for the International Association of Sheet Metal, Air, Rail and Transportation Workers (SMART) — was recognized with a Pinnacle Award in the Creative Tactics category.
A compilation of more than 15,000 unique photos taken by Imagine Communications and others, the library officially launched for beta testing in August 2015 with the goal of making the Funds’ images easily accessible to apprentice training directors, instructors, administrators and field staff members at locations across the country. It has since surpassed the 200,000-view mark.
“Being able to easily and quickly access a wide variety of images makes the job of developing apprenticeship curriculum much easier,” said Tim Myres, training coordinator for Sheet Metal Workers Local No. 20 in Indianapolis. “In the past, I would spend large amounts of time searching the web for appropriate images to use in lesson presentations. Now, it’s a convenient one-stop shop for any images I need. It has positively impacted the apprenticeship instructors’ abilities in development of curriculum.”
The firm also earned an Award of Excellence in the Creative Tactics category for its successful marketing/public relations campaign leading up to the 15th annual ICB Conference, which took place April 25 – 29, 2016 in Las Vegas. The conference sold out, meeting the organization’s attendance goals.
“We saw many returnees from previous conferences as well as a considerable number of new faces,” said John Hamilton, chief operating officer of ICB. “We can see the conference growing from year to year and the benefits it brings to our industry in terms of increased employment opportunities for members, increased bidding opportunities for SMACNA contractors and increased man-hours overall.”
Brian Rouff, Imagine Communications managing partner, said: “While we don’t do this for the awards, a lot of hard work went into both of these projects, and it’s nice to be recognized and share an evening with other professionals in our industry.”
