Events to take place at Paseo Verde, Gibson, Green Valley libraries
HENDERSON, Nev. – To provide local youth with safe and fun ways to celebrate Halloween, Henderson Libraries will host several free events throughout the month of October:
Paseo Verde Library, 280 S. Green Valley Parkway
HALLOWEEN CARNIVAL (children)
Wednesday, Oct. 29, 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.
Kids can don their Halloween costumes for the Paseo Verde Library’s annual Halloween Carnival. Festivities will include games, crafts and Halloween stories. Meeting in the conference room.
James I. Gibson Library, 100 W. Lake Mead Parkway
STORIES THAT GO BUMP IN THE NIGHT-STORYTELLING CLUB (grades 4-8)
Thursdays, Oct. 2, 9, 23, 30, 6 – 7 p.m.
Teens and tweens have the opportunity to get together for a session of scary story sharing. The club will meet for six weeks, and the final meeting will be a storytelling festival. TEEN HALLOWEEN PARTY (ages 12-17)
Thursday, Oct. 23, 4 – 5 p.m.
Teens will watch a Halloween movie and decorate Halloween cookies. Party is a drop-in event for teens in grades six through 12. Contact Miss Maura at 702-564-9287, option 4, for more information. Meeting in the program room.
HALLOWEEN EXTRAVAGANZA (all ages)
Saturday, Oct. 25, 9 – 11 a.m.
The Gibson Library will host its 12th annual Halloween Extravaganza. All ages are invited to attend in costume to trick or treat, play games and win prizes. Contact Miss Marcie at 702-564-9287, option 4, for more information.
HALLOWEEN HOWLS (ages 5-11)
Wednesday, Oct. 29, 4 – 5 p.m.
Youth have the opportunity to attend a scary Halloween storytime. Attendees will hear some scary stories and do a fun Halloween craft. Registration is required. Contact Miss Rachel at 702-564-9287, option 4, for more information.

TEEN CRAFT CLUB (teens)

SCARYSTORIES TO TELL IN THE DARK (child)

TRICK OR TREAT AROUND THE LIBRARY (ages 0-11)
Thursday, Oct. 30, 4:30 – 6:30 p.m.
Children ages 0-11 can dress in their costumes and visit stations throughout the library to Trick-Or-Treat. Visit the Children’s desk to get started.
All events are free and open to the public. Register online at mypubliclibrary.com to attend any of the above events. In observance of Nevada Day, all libraries will be closed on the actual Halloween holiday.
