Henderson Chamber names Stidham director of government affairs

Business group expands legislative, political presence

HENDERSON, Nev. – The Henderson Chamber of Commerce staff and its 1,200-plus member base welcomed Amber Stidham as the business organization’s director of government affairs.  In her role, Stidham will oversee and develop the organization’s legislative programming as well as its Issues Mobilization Political Action Committee (IMPAC) to benefit member organizations and the Southern Nevada business community as a whole.

“We want our expanding membership to know their chamber of commerce recognizes the direct impact legislative and political involvement has on a business’ bottom line,” said Henderson Chamber of Commerce President Scott Muelrath, who noted Stidham’s diverse background and knowledge of varying industries, program development and communication strategies will prove valuable. “Amber’s addition will magnify our efforts in ensuring our community remains one of the most attractive places to do business in Southern Nevada and throughout the Southwest.”

According to the Henderson Chamber of Commerce, Stidham will be tasked with enhancing the organization’s legislative footprint alongside growing its candidate endorsement program through IMPAC.

Stidham brings 15 years of combined communications, outreach, public relations and government affairs experience to the Henderson Chamber, most significantly serving as the manager of government affairs, marketing and media for the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada prior to joining the organization. More recently apart from that, Stidham served as a freelance consultant working locally in the public affairs, public relations and administrative government affairs arena.

A Henderson native, Stidham is a familiar face throughout the Las Vegas valley particularly to the Henderson Chamber of Commerce, as she had served as a contracted, primary communications representative on behalf of the organization for nearly 10 years. Additionally, since 2001, Stidham volunteered her time to the organization, including serving as its marketing committee chairperson as well as chairperson for the Henderson Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s Leadership Henderson program, from which she is a 2006 graduate.

Stidham earned her bachelor’s degree in communications with a minor in political science from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
