Henderson Chamber names Muelrath executive director

HENDERSON, Nev.The Henderson Chamber of Commerce has selected Scott Muelrath as the organization’s executive director. Muelrath replaces Alice Martz, former president/CEO, who retired in June. Muelrath, a longtime chamber member, Board member and volunteer, will officially take the reins of the chamber Sept. 6.

“Bringing on Scott means we have officially entered the next era of opportunity for the Henderson Chamber,” said Rick Smith, chairman of the board of directors. “It has been a very comprehensive search. We received resumes from across the country. We also received resumes locally from highly qualified individuals from which we ultimately made our decision. Scott brings a commitment to the community and a history of involvement with businesses from one-to-two person small businesses to very large organizations. His range of expertise in dealing with business owners, and small-business owners in particular, is valuable.”

Muelrath has been involved in the property management and real estate development industry since 1993, most recently as general manager of the Galleria at Sunset in Henderson. Muelrath brings a history of community involvement to his new position. During his time at the Galleria, he worked closely with the city of Hendersonto develop and open the first police Community Relations Office in a retail setting in Nevada– a project that became a model for other government entities nationwide.

Prior to moving to Las Vegas in 1991, he worked for seven years in the San Francisco Bay Area at various real estate holding companies and for municipal government, focusing on waterfront development and marina management and providing consulting services in these areas.

Muelrath graduated from the University of California, Davis with a bachelor’s degree in history.
