HENDERSON, Nev. — At 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 21, representatives from the Henderson Chamber of Commerce and the City of Henderson will present information on key issues that are expected to be debated or acted upon during the Nevada State Legislature’s 76th Regular Session, which convenes Feb. 7. The presentation will take place at the Henderson Convention Center — located at 200 Water Street.
Discussion items will include reapportionment and redistricting and the impacts to Henderson; city resources and services; and the potential impact of consolidation on the city, its residents and businesses.
Henderson Chamber President Kirk Clausen, Mayor Andy Hafen, Councilman Steve Kirk, and Councilwoman Gerri Schroder will present. Staff from the chamber and city will also be in attendance.
“There has been a lot of discussion recently about consolidation of governments and services across the valley. While others may believe bigger government is better, here in Henderson we don’t believe that to be the case,” said Mayor Andy Hafen. “We value our ability to be more responsive and better able to meet the needs of our community.”
The Henderson Chamber of Commerce is a nonprofit, voluntary organization committed to promoting and supporting member businesses.
