Henderson Development Association to host luncheon, panel discussion March 8

HENDERSON, Nev. The Henderson Development Association (HDA) will host a luncheon and panel discussion, “Redeveloping Water Street: Success in Downtown Henderson,” from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, March 8 at the Henderson Hotel and Casino, 777 W. Lake Mead Parkway.

Moderated by Scott Muelrath, president and CEO of the Henderson Chamber of Commerce, the panel will consist of Stephanie Garcia-Vause, City of Henderson assistant city manager; Matt Kershaw, chief executive officer of Clark County Credit Union; Windom Kimsey, president and CEO of Tate Snyder Kimsey Architects; and Juan Vazquez, managing partner of Juan’s Flaming Fajitas and Cantina.

The Henderson Redevelopment Agency has been working to create a refined vision for the Water Street District, which envelops an authentic, welcoming downtown core, including community gather space, with retail, professional services, family and nightlife entertainment, employment centers, educational opportunities and residents.

The event is sponsored by GC Garcia, Republic Services, R&O Construction, tsk Architects, Co-Operation on Water and Water Street District Business Association.

Cost for Henderson Chamber of Commerce members is $50, $80 for non-members. The last day to register is Wednesday, March 6. There will be a $10 additional charge for walk-ins.

The Henderson Development Association (HDA), the economic development arm of the Henderson Chamber of Commerce, focuses on growing the primary job base in Henderson by encouraging the attraction, retention, expansion and diversification of the business community. The HDA supports the efforts of the city of Henderson’s Economic Development Department, highlighting workforce development and retention by proactively identifying and servicing business clusters within the community.

The HDA provides regional and local advocacy, relocation packets, one-on-one visitation, the Henderson On-Board program and HDA panel discussions and mixers. Currently, the HDA makes up 20 percent of the Henderson Chamber of Commerce membership.
