Galleria at Sunset to present first Rising Stars Concert and Festival

Dancers, singers to perform, family-friendly activities abound April 26

HENDERSON, Nev. – The Galleria at Sunset will host the first Rising Stars Concert and Festival from 11 to 7 p.m. Saturday, April 26. Some of the community’s most talented youth will take the stage from 4 to 7 p.m. to sing and dance their way through a judged competition while families enjoy bounce houses, balloon artists, face painters and a raffle for prizes including gift cards and show tickets, among others. All proceeds from the raffle will benefit the Boys and Girls Clubs of Southern Nevada.

The performers auditioned to be a part of the program on March 29, and the competition will award four winners in two age categories – ages 8 to 13 and 14 to 21 – prizes including a recording contract for vocalists, professional photo shoot, training, professional styling and more.

Judges (who donated the below prizes) will include: Annette Serrato of Nets Makeup Artistry Hair and Makeup; Dylan Shelton of Ideal Music Group; Antonio Butler of Diamond Music Group; Stone Paxton of Small Vegas LLC, five-time award winning soul artist and special guest performer; and Tee Beatz of Las Vegas Music Group.

Stone Paxton donated a recording and distribution deal values at $45,000.

Small Vegas LLC donated a recording prize of five hours of studio time as well as a design prize of an album cover design (worth $750), business card design (worth $150) and a flier/poster design (worth $1,000).

Serrato donated a prize of complete artist styling (hair and makeup) worth $2,000.

Shelton donated a studio recording prize of five months of management consulting, valued at more than $5,000.

Butler donated a produced track valued at $2,000 as well as one-week features on bpcallaccess.com (valued at $50) for all winners.

Beatz donated recording studio time valued at $3,000.

The Galleria at Sunset opened in 1996 and is anchored by Macy’s, JCPenney, Dillard’s, Kohl’s, H&M, and Dick’s Sporting Goods. It features retailers such as Coach, bebe, Buckle, Forever 21, Abercrombie & Fitch, Victoria’s Secret and more. Owned and operated by Forest City Enterprises, the 1,048,000-square-foot regional shopping center is the only enclosed mall in Henderson and one of the largest in Southern Nevada.
