Crying on Santa’s lap may not be bad this year, winner to receive prize pack
HENDERSON, Nev. – Every year hundreds of children sit on Santa’s lap during the holiday season to tell him exactly what they want to receive for Christmas. And like clockwork, each year features kids who cry their way through the experience and “ruin” the picturesque moment for their mom and dad.
At the Galleria at Sunset, however, crying on Santa’s lap won’t be a bad thing because crying kids will get the chance to win the Christmas Criers contest.
Every child who cries on Santa’s lap this holiday season will be offered the opportunity to opt in to participate in the Galleria at Sunset’s Christmas Criers program. A special photo package will be created exclusively for the Christmas Criers participant and his or her image will be displayed on the mall’s Santa set. Each week, shoppers can vote for their favorite crier and the child with the most votes at the end of contest on Thursday, Dec. 17, will be the winner.
“Although a photo of your child crying on Santa’s lap isn’t ideal, most people can find the humor in them,” said Heather Valera, marketing director for the Galleria at Sunset. “We established the Christmas Criers program to provide a fun and light-hearted way to enjoy those ‘less-than-perfect’ holiday moments.”
The grand prize winner will win a $500 gift card to the Galleria at Sunset.
The Galleria at Sunset – located at 1300 W. Sunset Road on the corner of Sunset Road and Stephanie Street in Henderson – has again partnered with Sepia Photo to host the contest.
Voting for Christmas Criers will end on Dec. 17 and the winner will be notified on Friday, Dec. 18. The mall will announce the winner publicly at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 19, when the winning Christmas Crier is presented with the gift card.
