Galleria at Sunset holds school supply drive to replace those lost in fire, donates $1,000 in supplies

Peoples Autism Foundation held school supplies drive Sunday, loses all in fire Thursday

The Galleria at Sunset, 1300 West Sunset Road, will host a school supply drive now through Saturday, Aug. 27 (to be delivered for donation on Monday, Aug. 29), on behalf of the Peoples Autism Foundation, which provides support for autistic children and their families. Donations will be collected at the Galleria at Sunset’s Guest Services — located on the second floor, near the food court. The mall will get the drive started by donating $1,000 in school supplies.

The Peoples Autism Foundation aids children with autism and autism spectrum disorders and their families through information services and direct support.

The organization’s warehouse — along with those of several other businesses and nonprofits — went up in flames early yesterday morning. All school supplies collected during a drive the organization held Sunday were lost.
