Friends of Henderson Libraries to host 10th annual Library Tree Lane

Libraries’ largest fundraiser to culminate with gala Dec. 6, benefit youth services

HENDERSON, Nev. – The Friends of the Henderson Libraries will host the 10th annual Library Tree Lane beginning Thursday, Nov. 14, through Friday, Dec. 6, during normal business hours at the Paseo Verde Library, 280 S. Green Valley Parkway in Henderson, just south of the 215 Beltway. Throughout this time the library will showcase a beautiful seasonal display of decorated trees, with wreaths and hostess gifts for sale, along with chance drawing items.

This year’s featured author is Robyn Carr, bestselling author and a Friend of Henderson Libraries. (Carr’s latest in her “Thunder Point” series was just released the week of Aug. 26.)

The festivities will culminate with a ticketed gala reception and silent auction from 7 – 10 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6. Tickets will be available for $35 each and will go on sale Nov. 14.

More than 225 gift baskets as well as many book bundles will be a part of the gala’s annual silent auction. Baskets feature books paired with well-matched goods and services donated by the local community.  An auction preview will be available on the library’s website (www.mypubliclibrary.com) beginning the week of Thanksgiving.  Library Tree Lane is the biggest fundraising event hosted by the Friends of Henderson Libraries. All funds raised will be used to purchase youth services materials.

Food at the gala will be catered by Emery’s and the wine is donated by Southern Wine and Spirits. Honorary chairs are Dr. Robert and Jane Fielden and Laura Jane and Lane Spina. (Jane Fielden created the original artwork for Library Tree Lane, and Laura Jane Spina chaired the first seven years of the event.)

All events for Library Tree Lane take place at the Paseo Verde Library.

The 2012 Library Tree Lane raised $35,000 and also benefited Henderson Libraries’ youth services.

Business or cocktail attire is recommended for the gala reception. For information on sponsorships, call the Friends of Henderson Libraries at 702-492-6594.
