Participants bring new, unopened toy to benefit The Burn Foundation, local kids
HENDERSON, Nev. – CrossFit Veni Vidi Vici, 3306 St. Rose Parkway, Suite 110, will host a one-hour toy drive from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 20, to benefit The Burn Foundation of Southern Nevada.
To bring in donors, CrossFit Veni Vidi Vici is making its own donation – a free CrossFit class during that same 10 to 11 a.m. timeframe. A $20 value, the class will be scalable so those of all levels of fitness can participate.
Participants are encouraged to bring one new, unopened toy to benefit The Burn Foundation of Southern Nevada. Firefighters from the organization will be on hand with a fire truck to collect toys, which will be donated to children who have been affected by fire.
“Giving back to the community is part of who we are at CrossFit Veni Vidi Vici,” said Boris Sapone, CrossFit Veni Vidi Vici’s owner and lead coach. “During this time of year, it’s important that all children – especially those who have been affected the way they have – know the community cares about them. I’m glad we can host events like this to help bring some holiday cheer to children in need.”
The Burn Foundation provides assistance to burn victims and their families as well as children at risk identified by local firefighters and during catastrophic events. The organization also works to further education and awareness of fire and life safety in the community. The foundation also partners with the American Red Cross for the After the Fire is Out program, which helps residents of Southern Nevada who are victims of home fires.
