Twin Physician Services president, managing partner named to country’s largest medical billing organization

LAS VEGAS – Susan Chandler, president and managing partner of Las Vegas-based Twin Physician Services has been named to the national Healthcare Billing and Management Association Board of Directors.

After serving as a member of several committees including education and certification for HBMA, Chandler will increase her presence on a national level through serving on its Board of Directors.

“The Healthcare Billing Management Association is the largest medical billing association in the United States and is responsible for approximately 30 percent of all medical billing in the country,” said Chandler, who has been a fixture in Southern Nevada for more than 45 years. “My presence on the Board of Director’s gives a voice to Nevada, allowing issues facing our healthcare industry, such as billing and records, to be brought to the forefront.”

Founded in 1993, the Healthcare Billing and Management Association is the only trade association representing third-party medical billers. HBMA members process physician and other provider claims integral to the healthcare delivery system. They not only bill for medical services, but frequently perform all of the physician’s administrative functions. Members often also provide accounts receivable management, consulting and practice management services.

HBMA was created to work with and educate Congress and the Administration on issues affecting third-party billers. The association maintains a strong presence in Washington, D.C. to monitor the constant changes in Medicare, Medicaid, private health insurance legislation and regulations.

Chandler has more than 30 years of experience in the health care management industry. Prior to establishing Twin Physician Services, Chandler owned another national billing company in operation for more than 20 years. She has also worked in administration at Women’s Hospital and also served as vice president of Operations for Prime Health of Nevada, one of the largest managed care companies in the state.
