Chamber to present ‘The Margin Tax Initiative: What It Means For Your Business’ at June 10 breakfast

Griffin of Coalition to Defeat the Margin Tax Initiative to present

HENDERSON, Nev. – For the Henderson Chamber of Commerce’s June network breakfast Tuesday, June 10, Karen Griffin, spokesperson for the Coalition to Defeat the Margin Tax Initiative, will present “The Margin Tax Initiative: What It Means For Your Business.”

Sponsored by Hansen Networks, the breakfast will take place from 7 to 9 a.m. in the Cancun Room at the Fiesta Henderson, 777 W. Lake Mead Parkway.

The Coalition to Defeat the Margin Tax Initiative is the official coalition organized to urge a “no” vote on Nevada Margin Tax for Public Schools Initiative, Question 3, which will be Nevada’s Nov. 4 general election ballot. The coalition represents thousands of Nevada employers, farmers, taxpayers and consumers.

“The huge tax increase proposed by Question 3 would severely damage our state’s already struggling economy, cause the loss of thousands of jobs and cost Nevada consumers hundreds of millions of dollars in higher costs for food, clothing, electricity, health care, insurance and other goods and services – all without guaranteeing more funding for education,” Griffin said.

Cost for the breakfast is $25 for members and $45 for nonmembers; there is an additional charge of $10 for walk-ins. The last day to RSVP is Friday, June 6.  Cancellations are required by the RSVP deadline to receive a refund. RSVPs can be made online at hendersonchamber.com.

The Henderson Chamber of Commerce is a nonprofit, professional organization committed to promoting and supporting member businesses.
