Dr. Thomas C. Piechota of UNLV to present
HENDERSON, Nev. – The Henderson Chamber of Commerce will host its monthly networking breakfast from 7 to 9 a.m. Tuesday, May 12, at the Fiesta Henderson Cancun Room, 777 W. Lake Mead Parkway.
Dr. Thomas C. Piechota, vice president for research and economic development and professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, will discuss UNLV becoming a top-tier higher education institution.
Piechota received his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering in 1989 from Northern Arizona University, his master’s degree in civil and environmental engineering in 1993 from UCLA and his doctorate in civil and environmental engineering in 1997 from UCLA.
At UNLV, Piechota has lead various interdisciplinary research and education efforts. He has also authored or coauthored more than 100 journal articles, book chapters, conference proceedings and reports, and his work has been cited more than 1,800 times. He is a licensed professional engineer in the states of Nevada and California.
