Berkley to highlight Touro University during chamber breakfast

CEO, senior provost to discuss community outreach

HENDERSON, Nev. – Former U.S Rep. Shelley Berkley, CEO and senior provost of Touro University Western Division, will present “Touro University Nevada: To Serve, To Lead, To Teach” during the Henderson Chamber of Commerce’s networking breakfast from 7 to 9 a.m. Tuesday, July 11, at Revere Golf Club, 2600 Hampton Road in Anthem.

During the presentation, Berkley will discuss caring and giving back to the community as the core of Touro University’s mission. The commitment to service is embedded in the health care provider and educator courses taught at the Henderson campus and across the country. This will allow attendees to learn more about the university and its community outreach initiatives.

Berkley oversees two of the fastest-growing medical schools in the western United States, including allied health science and education programs with a current total enrollment of more than 3,000 students. Prior to her work with the university, she served Nevada in the U.S. House of Representative from 1998 to 2013; she was the first woman to serve the district and held the position for seven terms.

The event is sponsored by Avanstaff HR.
