Professional brings 35 years of banking experience to Henderson office
HENDERSON, Nev. – Valley Bank of Nevada has hired Chris Schlaffman as its senior vice president/commercial loan manager for its Henderson loan office, located at 4343 E. Sunset Road.
As senior vice president/commercial loan manager, Schlaffman manages the commercial lending process and business development for the Henderson office.
With 35 years of banking experience — more than 18 years in commercial lending and business development — Schlaffman started in the banking industry as a high school intern. Working as a part-time teller through college, he went on to graduate from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas with a bachelor’s degree in financial services. He is also a graduate of Pacific Coast Bankers School. In the last 17 years, he served Bank of Nevada (formerly BankWest of Nevada) in a succession of leadership and management roles, including senior vice president/chief lending officer, overseeing five branches and approximately $540 million in loans. In 2005, he was named banker of the year by the Nevada Minority Business Council.
Schlaffman also serves as a Credit Committee member for CDC Small Business Finance, the treasurer of Green Valley United Methodist Church and treasurer for Swain’s Creek Pines Lot Owners Association.
A native of Rapid City, South Dakota, Schlaffman currently resides in Henderson with his family and enjoys easy access to sports and outdoor activities in the southwest region.
