Jamba Juice donates more than $13,300 to St. Baldrick’s Foundation

Area Jamba Juice franchisee raised funds for childhood cancer by selling cause bracelets at 23 locations in Southern Nevada, Southern California

HENDERSON, Nev. – Sometimes all it takes is a conversation between two friends. One day, Phil Ralston told his friend, Jeffrey Fine, how much his fundraising efforts for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to raising money for childhood cancer research grants, meant to him. Ralston, president of American Nevada Company, is this year’s top St. Baldrick’s fundraiser in Southern Nevada, and Fine is the owner of 23 Jamba Juice locations in Southern Nevada as well as San Fernando Valley and Ventura County in California (FC Juice Partners LLC). He also owns 20 Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf locations (Las Vegas Coffee Investors LLC).

Fine, a third-generation Las Vegan whose grandfather Hank Greenspun came to Southern Nevada in 1948, has a strong connection with the local community. He supports several dozen local nonprofits, many of which are children and special needs-focused, so the partnership was a perfect fit.

Equipped with green St. Baldrick’s cause bracelets for a donation of a dollar or more, Jamba Juice team members were educated on the foundation’s mission. Within a month, a successful fundraiser was underway.

Over the course of three weeks, participating stores raised $13,311 to bring Ralston’s 2017 fundraising total to $43,809. Ralston and his team, Bald by Design, have raised more than $600,000 in the past 10 years.

The check will be presented to the St. Baldrick’s Foundation at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 19, at the Jamba Juice Siena Promenade location at 10251 S. Eastern Ave., Ste. 120, in Henderson.

“I believe the St. Baldrick’s cause resonates with the community,” said Philip Patent, president and chief operating officer of FC Juice Partners LLC – Jamba Juice and Las Vegas Coffee Investors LLC. “We are pleased that all of our nonprofit efforts generated that much money in a short amount of time.”

Fine plans to run the St. Baldrick’s fundraiser this summer at his Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf locations in Southern Nevada.
